Programs

Equine Therapy

Shalom Ranch's main function is to provide Equine Therapy using an EAGALA model of therapy. We work with different parent organizations in the community in addition to individual families. Parent organizations send their residents and clients. We raise funds in order to sponsor spots for the different children and youth within the community. We greatly appreciate the generous people who change lives.

School Day

Shalom Ranch works with the public school system in providing day programs that are part of the curriculum. Students that are part of a special education program now look forward to their "special program". Our program gives them hope within their emotional, social, educational and physical well-being.

Family Literacy

Shalom Ranch promotes literacy to the whole family. We help parents who need to improve their literacy. We teach children to read and then teach the parents how to help their children.

Summer Camp

Shalom Ranch has summer camps for students and families. These camps allow the children to find Shalom within their world. Our Family Camps work to educate the parents so they can be successful with their precious children. Our guest speakers are experts in their fields. We work with learning disabilities, ADD, ADHD, RAD, SID and other related issues.

Seminars

Shalom Ranch offers a number of seminars in order to help parents and teachers understand their children's issues. We offer seminars in Dyslexia, ADD, SID and RAD.

Literacy Training

Shalom Ranch sponsors literacy training for parents. Parents are the first line for their children and need to have the opportunity to learn how to help them.

Executive Director Marie Filion Sherwood is an author of foreign language curriculum. Marie has a BS in Science and an Arts degree in Psychology Language Acquisition. Marie is a natural horsemanship trainer who loves to help children gain confidence and discover their gifts. Marie grew up with many of the issues that she now helps children come out of.
