Shalom Ranch Horses

The horses at Shalom Ranch are primarily Bashkir Curly horses. We have chosen Curly horses for a number of reasons. They are hypo-allergenic, have puppy dog temperments, hard hooves, and are bold and resilient. Their boldness makes them a far safer horse than most breeds. They have been bred to live in any climate. Our horses live outside in -50 degree Celcius weather. They make excellent therapy horses and wonderful companions. We imprint our foals, teach them how to move off of pressure and respect at a very young age. This makes their saddle training an easy step.

Our breeding program supports our Equine Therapy program to at risk children and youth. Please check out our Horses for Sale page. We have an excellent transporter that will deliver to major cities all over North America for low rates. Purchasing from Shalom Ranch means buying with confidence and supporting a worthwhile ministry. Please email if you have any questions.

Warrior Coyote Crow Horse f.5-21-03

Our pride and joy is our Curly horse stallion Warrior Coyote Crow Horse aka Coyote. He is the quietest horse on the property. He is a rare color called grullo. We've been very pleased with the color and curl he has thrown to date. Coyote stands just over 15 hh. He was foaled in 2003 and thus might make it to 15.1 hh.

Warrior's Sheyenne Queen f.6-10-98

Sheyenne is a flaxen sorrel extreme mare. Extreme curlies are believed to be homozygous for curl. This means that even if they are bred to a straight they will produce a curly coated foal. The stallions are greatly sought after. Sheyenne loses her mane and tail in the spring. She stands 15 hh.

Warrior's Queen f.5-1-90

Warrior's Queen is the daughter of the foundational curly horse Bad Warrior. She is one of the last offspring. He is now deceased, so direct line offspring are now hard to find. Queen is a hardy mare born on the Standing Rock Reserve in South Dakota. She was one of Hammerich's mares. She produces beautiful foals and we are anxious to see what her and Coyote will produce. Queen stands 15.1 hh.

Warrior Mead Berndt OGKDa f.2-14-03

OGKDa is a beautiful fading black. She is 14.2 hh, but acts like she is bigger. She has a stocky build with powerful legs. We also own her daughter Etoile (3-16-06).

Stag Creek Warrior's Etoile f.3-16-06

Etoile is a beautiful little filly. She is sweet and not a pushover. She has long legs that promise to benefit her in the future.

Misty

Misty is a foundational quarter horse. She stands 14.2 hh and is a beautiful golden palomino. She is trained in dressage. She is working in Level I. My daughter Paige hopes to take her to dressage competitions spring 07.

Sonic Bloom f.05-06

Sonic is a beautiful black boy. At seven months old he stands just under 14.2 hh. This guy will end up being well over 16hh. Our stallion Coyote has been teaching him how to be a gentleman. Sonic is learning well. He is usually the first one to come and see you in the pasture. He has a good sense of humor. He loves to play with anything that is hanging out of your pocket. You have to keep an eye on gloves that are left hanging out of pockets because he will be half way across the pasture before you know it. We are looking forward to seeing what kind of stallion Sonic will make.

Sandmans Dun Jokin' f.4-1-04

Joker is a beautiful yellow dun. He is very friendly and shows that he was imprinted. He is now over 15 hh. We will be starting him spring 07 using Monty Roberts' methods. He is already trusting and we anticipate he will be an easy start.
