Congratulations to our 2008 Contest winners!

That's right - winners. As in two of them. We had a lot of great entries this year, and so we're giving away TWO foals!

First place - Jennie Bourassa of Stony Plain, Alberta!

Jennie made a full sized foal out of willow branches, and submitted a beautifull hand crafted photo album with pictures documenting the building process. Her love of horses was evident throughout, as well as her hard work and dedication to creating a first class entry.

Jennie's new friend is Shalom Ranch Peanut Butter Cup.

Second place - Colleen McNelis of St. Petersburg, Florida!

Colleen's scrapbook chronicled her life with horses. She also told us about the work her and her mother are doing in setting up a non-profit organization that will work with at risk kids.

Collen's new friend is Shalom Ranch Kitchi.

There were many excellent entries, and the judges had a very difficult job. Some entries clearly had a lot of work put into them, while others displayed significant artistic talent. Although several of these entries truly stood out, it was unanimously decided that the winning entries touched the judges hearts the most.

Thank you to all participants; you have made our Equine Therapy program possible. You are encouraged to enter again next year. It is our intention to give away at least two foals again next year. We will give away additional foals as the number of entrants rise.
